José Modesto Larrea y Carrión is appointed Vice President of the Republic during the first term of Juan José Flores.

Presidential Assignment

José Modesto Larrea y Carrión is in charge of the Presidency of the Republic from October 5th to November 5th of the same year.

Peace Treaty

Signing of the Peace and Friendship Treaty between Ecuador and Colombia at Hacienda Pinsaqui.

Modesto Larrea is a founder of the Socialist Party of Ecuador.

Quito Municipal Council

Modesto Larrea is elected president of the Municipal Council of Quito.

1931

First Presidential Candidacy

Modesto Larrea runs for President of the Republic, finishing second behind Neptalí Bonifaz.

1934

Ecuadorian Representative

Modesto Larrea is appointed as Extraordinary Envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary to the governments of Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay.

María Cecilia Larrea, “Marujita Larrea,” marries Manuel Freile Angulo.

1937

Envoy to the Vatican

Modesto Larrea is appointed as Extraordinary Envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary to the Holy See.

Fifth Generation
Pedro Freile Larrea is born in Quito on December 4, 1939.

1944

Envoy to Mexico

Modesto Larrea actively participates in the May Rebellion, and José María Velasco Ibarra appoints him as Ambassador to Mexico.

1952

Second Presidential Campaign

Modesto Larrea runs for President of the Republic again, finishing fourth.

Sixth Generation

Pedro Freile Guarderas, the current owner of Hacienda Pinsaqui, is born in Quito.

1983

Fourth Generation

Maruja Larrea, grandmother of the current owner of Hacienda Pinsaqui, Pedro Freile Guarderas, passes away.

1995

Hacienda Pinsaqui Inn

Hacienda Pinsaqui renovates its historic heritage house and opens its doors to the world as Hacienda Pinsaqui Inn.
